We act (or fail to act) not because of WILL,
but because of IMAGINATION
If you think about it, then it is actually not the WILL that determines your productivity or procrastination - it is your IMAGINATION. Your imagination is responsible for your drive and enthusiasm. When you feel like you don't want to do something, it is actually the imagination that is at fault and not that you don't have the will to do something. You have negative and detrimental thoughts and images in your mind that make you do not want to do and strive and thrive. Your imagination has fed you a negative image, you have not been conscious when it came into your mind and now you are run and ruled by it.
These negative thoughts and images are nothing that you would not already know - the simple thoughts of "Why change?!" or "It doesn't matter" or "I can't do it " or "I suck at this" or "I am a failure" or "There is no use of doing anything" or "Everything is fine, why should I even do something" etc
All these thoughts and ideas are responsible for you not doing and not achieving.
These thoughts do not come from a lack of WILL
➡ that means that you cannot overcome them only
with a stronger WILL!
These thoughts and ideas emerge from your IMAGINATION. And to overcome that, you have to use the same IMAGINATION to build new thoughts and ideas that propel you into growth, happiness and success.
Your IMAGINATION is key. 🙂🧠👈💛

(1) STRESS
Firstly, our modern lifestyle often exposes us to high levels of stress, both mentally and physically, which can have detrimental effects on our cognitive abilities.
(2) NUTRIENT-DEFICIENCY
Additionally, the prevalence of processed foods and nutrient-deficient diets may lead to inadequate intake of essential nutrients crucial for optimal brain function.
(3) AGING
Moreover, as we age, the natural decline in cognitive abilities becomes a concern for many individuals.
In such circumstances, brain supplements, also known as nootropics, offer a valuable solution. These supplements are designed to enhance memory, focus, concentration, and overall cognitive performance. They often contain a combination of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and herbal extracts that work synergistically to nourish and protect the brain. By incorporating brain supplements into our daily routine, we can support and optimize our mental abilities, improving productivity, memory, and overall brain health.
IN A NUTSHELL
Your Brain is responsible for your results in life. That's why the motto behind galvenais Brain-Functional-Bars. By improving brain health and performance you improve your health, wealth and quality of life.
It's that simple. 🙂
]]>⚡ to cause (people) to become so excited or concerned about an issue, idea, etc., that they want to do something about it
(dude, I wish I'd started galvanizing a lot earlier in my life 🙄)
⚡ to cause something or someone to become active
⚡ to subject to the action of an electric current especially for the purpose of stimulating physiologically
⚡ to stimulate or excite as if by an electric shock
🔩 to coat (iron or steel) with a layer of zinc to prevent it from rusting
I think we can say that “galvanize” as a word with such an empowering meaning has really been used too little these days. It's time to start galvanizing.
🤔 Probably The Chemical Brothers got that already in 2004 when they released their hit tune “GALVANIZE” 👇

]]>Blue? 🤨 But spirulina is green, dude! 😜
Spirulina is classified as cyanobacteria OR blue-green algae. It means they have both green pigments from chlorophyll and blue pigments from phycobiliproteins (and actually also the orange ones from carotenoids). 🥕🐰
One of the phycobiliproteins is the blue pigment phycocyanin, that most often is referred to as 'blue spirulina' although it is only a component of spirulina - the molecule that gives spirulina its blue color (which you can't see. 👀 But it's there. I swear ✝).
In the Far East people used phycocyanin as a natural coloring agent in cosmetics and food. As the quite known nutrition guru with a HUGE following David Avocado Wolfe 🐺🥑 says, phycocyanin is the only really blue pigment in nature. All others are simply combinations of reds and browns and purples which make the fruit look blue but actually in reality they are not. 😏
It is probable that such phrasing is used to introduce a new product with an association of a product that is already very well known. A phrase "blue spirulina" sounds more familiar and attractive than "phycocyanin" which kinda makes you think of suicidal thoughts (shout-out to cyanopotassium 🤟)
Also, there is a probability that such wording is used as an effective way by which phycocyanin is familiarized and characterized with spirulina so that to make it legal for marketing and consumption in the European Union.* 👀
Phycocyanin is used as a food coloring for bubble gum, dairy products, lipsticks and eyeshadows in Japan, China and Thailand. Phycocyanin is the most widely used blue pigment in food and biotechnology thanks to its fluorescence and antioxidative properties.
Free Radicals (talkin' about the molecular compounds here 🧪, not the revolutionists) are involved in many important processes in the body - in both good and bad. ☯ They are involved in digestion, absorbtion, breathing, wound healing processes etc., but excessive and uncontrolled quantities of free radicals is a is the basis for the onset of various diseases and disorders - inflammation, atherosclerosis and even cancer. Just like with fire - it is nice, warm and cozy until it becomes uncontrollable. 😒🔥
One way the body is affected and controlled by this process is through antioxidants, which are able to neutralize the uncontrolled proliferation of free radicals.
I mention this in the context of spirulina because spirulina has a very good antioxidant activity, being able to neutralize various types of free radicals. And it is phycocyanin that is the main component of spirulina, which is responsible for its antioxidant properties. And, yes, btw, the antioxidant activity of phycocyanin and almost equal to the activity of vitamin C. 🍋
Therefore, whether it is phycocyanin or blue spirulina - it does not matter how we call it. The key is to understand its effects and use it to your advantage. 🙂
Here's a potato. Almost. No. It's Phycocyanin 💙🧠

O.Sitcihina studied the effect of Brain ENERGY Bar (BEB) on brain wave activity in different regions of the brain, while M.Balodis used a computerized cognitive test battery with which he tested the students' improvement of certain cognitive abilities after consuming BEB. 🍫😋
Now, let's dive deeper into one of the experiments and the obtained results. 😉👇
The study Immediate Effect of Brain ENERGY Bar on Electroencephalogram Parameters, carried out by O.Sitcihina, started with an initial brain electroencephalogram test to 3 students (ages 19-23). Twenty-two electrodes were put on the test subjects' heads (according to the 10-20 system in EEG) that each showed the difference of electric potential on the skin between the actual position and an indifferent (a.k.a. neutral) place on the head, like the earlobes. 👂😊
Immediately after the initial EEG the students were treated with a BEB and one-and-a-half hours later they returned for second EEG check-up. Below you can see a before and after image of brainwave activity in different regions of the brain for the 3 students:
With these results the study concluded that BEB consumption leads to increased alfa-brainwave activity in the parieto-occipital region by 79.9 % (+/- 35.1 %) even though the 3rd student showed a significantly lower alfa brainwave activity than both other students. An increase in alfa-brainwave activity is asociated with a relaxed, yet focused mental state and overall mental satisfaction. 😊
In other studies the nootropic ingredients of BEB - Ginkgo biloba and L-Theanine - both promote a relaxed mental state while caffeine shows an increased focus and, actually, a decreased alfa-brainwave activity. As seen from this study, such a combination of Ginkgo biloba, L-Theanine and caffeine still increases the alfa-brainwave activity in the parieto-occipital region and leads to a calm and focused mental state.
Try it out yourself. Your Brain will be grateful. 😉👌

And some 6 months later Life had prepared another challenge. For one of us it meant saying "Goodbye", but for the other it meant digging deeper into the true "Why?" we both had actually started this thing in the first place.
The idea of simply making lecture-snacks was not enough. Like, there just had to be a more meaning to what we had started. There was WAY more good we could do (as I was alone from now on, I could've said just 'me').
And again - some months later the true meaning was clear. Whatever we do and whatever way we want to improve, grow and ascend in our lives - it ALWAYS involves the processes in the BRAIN. By supporting our Brain and helping it work properly, we can improve faster. :) So, Brain became the most important organ. Yes.
It simply came natural that 3 other flavors and 'functions' were developed-
-the savoury Brain Focus Bar with guarana,
-the blackcurrant & brahmi-powered Brain Memory Bar, and
-the matcha & omega-3-infused Brain Longevity Bar.
All clean label. 🤍
All vegan. 🍀
All no added sugar. 👌

The story of Brain Functional Bars. 🧠🍫 To be continued.. 🚀
See you around,
Karlis ✌️😉
@ [galvenais]
😬 Just because we feel too insecure of ourselves, we feel OK to connect and reach out to people virtually. 👌 But when it comes to simply making a phone call to ask for help or (even worse!) to offer help, it doesn’t feel that OK anymore. I mean, it is waaaaay easier to continue scrolling and seeking fun and entertainment than trying to fix the leaking toilet 🚽 (true story, btw 🤦♂️).
But (way too?) often we are not aware of the alternative option that passes by. The price we pay for living in virtual reality is living in the REAL reality. Which is also best known as simply “living”. And connecting. And talking. And feeling. And helping. And actually doing tings. Being together. Or being alone. Living.
We are super happy that the guys from Campoff have made this point the foundation of their startup! They offer rewards to people who can bear the stress or uneasiness of not using their smartphone and actually spending time living in the real world. What brave people they are. 🧙♂
Use your time wise, redeem the same “time” for great products and services. Yes, you can also redeem your time for Brain Functional Bars. 😉 Think but be present to Life. 🙌
“Pleeeease. Just shut up and take a hike!” That’s the best reply we could ever get for this post. 🙂👍
We're all out for camping. 🔥 (except the CR people. Sorry, they stay 💻). See you there! 🦝
]]>Algae are the primary manufacturers of EPA and DHA (& other valuable fatty acids, of course) which are MOST needed for your Brain health and longevity. Besides us all being water-heads (hey-hey, no offense, the Brain consists of 75% water 🧠💦), we are all basically fat-heads too (2 quite hurtful facts to hear, I know 🙁), 'cause about 60% of the Brain cells consist of different kinds of fatty-acids. 👌
The most commonly found fatty acids in Brain cells are docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid (dude, could've just said DHA and EPA 😒). These 2 are actually the main reason why doctors and dieticians advise you to take fish- or krill- oil supplements. DHA makes the gaps between nerve cells more fluid, that way improving cell communication🧠📲. Like, as much as you may not like to take in pure fat, this is THE fat you should consume. The Body will never use this fat as an energy source, that's why it will never store it somewhere around your Body (except your head 🧠) - it is simply too valuable 💎💎💎 to be used for energy 😉
To sum up - it's good. It's really good. 😊💚
DHAnk you,
Karlis from [galvenais]
oh, yes - cover photo by ryanniel masucol 👌
]]>Algae? Yes, algae is THE source to get your long-chain omega-3s from and that's why we've added it to the LONGEVITY formula. DHA is the most valuable fatty-acid 💎 and the building material of your Brain (read more about it here 😉), so this bar is a great DHA-source option for vegans 💚🌱🧠.
Matcha is a powerful source of antioxidants and catechins. Also, it is a valuable source of chlorophyll which is higher than any other green tea. Like, plants are naturally smart and people who know it, use it. 😉 When a plant is put in a darker place where there is not so much light, the plant senses and 'understands' that (science paragraph coming up next 👇)
To maintain the amount of photosynthesis necessary for existence and thriving, the plant changes the the chlorophyll-a and chlorophyll-b amount and proportions in the tissue (there are 2 types of chlorophyll; one works more efficiently in light, the other in shade). As a result, if you know that plants react to a change in lighting conditions, you can get a darker or a lighter shade of green tea (or any other plant really) by exposing it to more light or shade in the upcoming days before harvest. 🙂👌
In matcha's case - the tea plants are grown in shady conditions up to 30 days before harvesting. This procedure gives matcha tea a higher amount of chlorophyll, which gives it the rich and quite specific algae-kinda taste that you wouldn't notice in any other green tea.
To this (fishy-tasting? 🤔🐟 ) combination we've added choline which is an essential nutrient required to make acetylcholine - an important neurotransmitter which is primarily involved in memory, brain functioning and muscle movement (talk about LONGEVITY, right? 😉).
It's the sour-est of 'em all. Like, add fruit-sweetness + choline to the peculiar algae-kinda taste of matcha and DHA, and you pretty much get the taste of extra Days of Happiness and Joy to your Life 💛💪🗻 (LONGEVITY all the way, baby 🤟🌷)
Thanks, Japan 🙏🌞
We Love you too ❤️🤍

Your mouth immediately turns into a pool of saliva 🏊 when about 2 grams of freeze-dried blackcurrant (that's like a tablespoon of completely dry berries 🥄) reach your sour-detecting taste-buds. But when you add date-sweetness + some natural H-oily-ness 👸 of hemp, almonds and flax, the overall result is a sweet&sour bar with a scent of gin (eeem, I mean juniper 😇). A true classic for the Northern sense of taste 💙❄ and a reliable option for everybudd-y 😋👍
The Brain loves 🧠💜 this bar because of the ancient Indian herb Bacopa (somehow feels like saying 'raka-maka-foun' from "Freestyler") or Brahmi (now, interesting that in Sanskrit 'brahm-an' means the Source and the Goal of All Existence' 🤓) It's almost like your Brain was born to eat Brahmi. 😏🧠🌿
Brahmi is used to improve learning skills and memory, while also used for treating Alzheimer's or attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), though, still sufficient research has to be done to make it 100 % sure (one of the cases when modern science is catching-up to the traditional medicine 🥱).
Choline sets the stage to reduce fatigue and improve memory-retention. Choline is used in many reactions in the body and plays an important role in the nervous system by improving the connections and signalling between neurons. As choline acts the same way like the B-vitamins, often it is referred to as vitamin B4.
Juniper? Well, juniper berries are a natural antiseptic that cleanse the digestive tract. They give the bar a great & aromatic scent. 😇
If we continue a bit on the brahmi-spiritual-path 🧝♀🧙♂, juniper incense was used by ancients for energetic cleansing. Like, the juniper twigs smell so beautiful 😍, you actually don't need to whiff 'em 🔥 (if you don't believe me - visit the Island of Saaremaa in Estonia and find out for yourself 😛 Juniper grows like grass there).
(🥱 Bla-bla-bla-a strong closing sentence that pursues you that this is the best bar for you Brain 🧠💜 out there 🌍. And then a copy-paste sentence from above 👇)
Brain MEMORY bar is a true classic for the Northern sense of taste 💙❄ and a reliable option for everybudd-y 😋👍
Thanks & Still Lovin' It 💜

]]>Usually when we have lunch, we naturally feel a bit more satisfied and calm (not so good for the super-productive high-achievers 😯). It is because the Body has to distribute more energy and fuel to the gastrointestinal system. In other words, more blood (containing oxygen, nutrients etc) is needed in your stomach and there is less blood (oxygen, nutrients, glucose, etc.) available to fuel your Brain (makes me sound so smart, doesn't it? 🤓😎) . People say it is the good-old survival instinct - when you are full and fed, you no longer feel the pressure and need to provide for your tribe (just look at a lion when it has just eaten and not hungry; it makes you wanna pet that kitty all day 🐱💛🥰). You are more relaxed, chill, at ease and satisfied (and to the modern human this basically means "lazy" 😉).
So here, we try to avoid this naturally occuring feeling of laziness by giving the Body fuel to work with, but not overloading it with empty calories. 😉💪 A characteristic of the Brain FOCUS Bar is the real-food satiety + mental energy boost.
The seeds of hemp, pumpkin, sunflower, flax and sesame (allergen alert 🚨) open a dimension of valuable fats (the Omegas again 😎) and protein. The sun-dried tomato combined with oregano, rosemary, tarragon, garlic powder, paprika and a pinch of sea salt give your buds the savoury experience. While the mental boost is carried out by La-Guarana 💃🍍🕺
The (Chiquita-Banana)-Guarana is a natural source of caffeine. Actually, it can contain up to 4x more caffeine than regular coffee beans, while also containing other stimulants like theobromine and theophylline (like, really, why would I need to remember this..?! 🤷♂️) As these stimulants in Brain FOCUS Bar are enclosed in natural fiber, their absorbtion in the Body is gradual and does not give you a sense of overdose and jitters experienced after overdosing coffee. 🤓☕
Besides being a mental booster and reducing fatigue, guarana has antioxidative and anti-bacterial properties; it also may relieve diarrhea, may boost heart health, lose weight, relieve pain, learn better etc. 💪⚡💚💥 (and then on the next shelf we have potatoes, which are great for eating and.. ehm..🙄 Oh, look, a rainbow! 😍🌈).
So, if you ever wonder how it feels to be your cat and if you would like yourself as your owner, that means you could really use the Brain RELAXING Bar (one post earlier 😉). But, dude, this kinda thinking could generate some creative ideas, though 🤔 Ok, ehm, whatever..
(Focus, man. FOCUS!! 🤦♂️😬)
So, if you ever feel like having a meal and still want to get s**t done afterwards, Brain FOCUS Bar is just what you need 😊👍 (end of commercial; outro music )
Focus on the Go(o)d,
Karlis ❤️
]]>The sticky-sweet-nutty-nourishing base is made of dates, almonds, raisins and flaxseeds. The green buckwheat comes in hand, when we add a crunchy feel to the bar.
The Brain-calming effect is quite effective here 🧠💪💥
There is a whole gram of turmeric in one bar. Now, for some it may not seem that much at all. But for people for whom the only reason to take in turmeric is because "people say it is good for you" this is an excellent starter. And a perfect continuation as well. 😏
Why? Well, because turmeric is a very powerful spice. Used in the Ayurvedic cuisine for epochs ⏳🧙♂ and as the main ingredient in curry, it is still most popular in India (sorry, Steph, 🏀⛹♂ this time another "curry"🙄).
The power of turmeric lies within its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties combnied with the ability to cross the Blood-Brain-Barrier (the B-B-B 😎). As a result, turmeric can and does affect the Brain very directly - simply because it can reach it by crossing the B-B-B. And do all the antioxidant&anti-inflammatory magic there. 🤩🧠
Turmeric has been shown to lower oxidative stress in the body, improve cognitive abilites, delay neuron degradation (say whaaat?! 😮) and improve memory in patients with Alzheimer's.
Most of the magic is done by curcumin - the active molecule in turmeric. And there IS an essential precondition to how effectively curcumin can actually be absorbed in your body - it has to be consumed together with pipperine (it is the spicy molecule in black pepper; I'm not making up words here 😜). Hence, you'll find all curries quite hot 🔥 (sorry, Steph, it's the "Indian curries" again 😒). And hence again, we add a pinch of black pepper in our RELAXING bars. So you get the most out (or in? 🤔) of turmeric. 😉👌
Ok, looks like turmeric got a whole page there. Let's hope holy basil can stand up to the competition.
Holy basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum), also simply called tulsi (it kinda does make sense when you think about it. 5 letters are easier to pronounce than 17 🤔 👌) in Ayurveda, is a natural sedative for the nervous system. It really does the work of calming your Brain and Body and letting you take a "bite of chill" when you need it (like, yeah, duuude 🤟🏄♂). The compounds called Ocimumosides reduce stress and balance the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine in the Brain. So, when you feel you have too low or too much-of-a-high - tulsi is THE herb to turn to 😉 (heey, I'm simply providing alternative options here ✌️ One Love 💚🧠).
Melatonin is the sleep hormone that your Body (pssst, and mine too! 😉) produces during the day. So, when you have enough melatonin in your system, the Body knows it is time to go to bed. 😊😴 This is the hormone that is "battling" with the stress hormones in your body - as long as you will have high levels of stress in your system, the Body will not be able to recognize the melatonin and the need to rest, because the stress hormones (cortisol etc.) with their alertness will be dominant and take the upper hand.
One widely researched way, how melatonin production in the Body is reduced, is with the help (how would you call negative-help?) of blue light. 💡 But that I'll cover probably in another post, though. Time to relax now. 🥱 Does anyone know a good way to calm down? Some kind of food or a snack maybe? 🤔🤔🤔 Would appreciate your help here ❤️
Thanks,
Karlis from [galvenais]
Oh yes btw, I took Stephen's MasterClass - that was awesome ❤️🏀
]]>The natural ingredients provide great satiety, although the 30 g bar has only 108 kcal. It's a snack your Brain and your diet can afford to have. 👌
Dates make up the sweet part of the bars (😏 hey-hey, I'm talking 'bout the fruit here ), while cocoa (almost 4g per bar, hell yeah 🤟) does it job in adding the bitterness to your bud-experience (still 'bout food 😉).
Almonds are the main source of healthy unsaturated fatty acids, as well as plant based protein. Talking about plant based protein, hemp and flaxseeds both are PROs in this; They got this. 😎 So WE got THEM. 🙂 We signed them with 30 or more % protein + with all the valuable fatty acids (dude, the Omega-3s 😍) and fiber.
Finally, we get to the Brain-Loving part. 💛🧠
Caffeine (being the active ingredient in coffee and other stimulants) is probably the most (at least legally) consumed Brain, Body and Mind performance enhancer in the world. Nothing too special about that. 😛
But what makes caffeine so great in this bar, is its cooperation with his far East cousin L-Theanine (call him simply Lil-T). Lil-T is the active ingredient in green tea and together with caffeine they provide a great mix of their abilities.
Now, caffeine is notorious (B.I.G.- rip) for giving a fast mental-kick and then suddenly leaving the show. Which then leaves the audience uneasy and shouting: "We Want Sweet! 🤘💋🤩 -oops, sorry, wrong genre; We Want More!"
In the meantime, on the far-East-Coast of possibilities we have green tea with Lil-T, which is best known for its valuable prolonged mood and productivity enhancing properties. L-Theanine kicks off slowly but has the capacity to hold a 3 or 4 hour long show, while gradually decreasing its effects and leaving the audience in your head (yes, the Brain) satisfied and calm.
The magic happens when these two Bad Boys are combined - you get a quick boost that will last the whole event and you will not be begging for more when caffeine and Lil-T are fully consumed.
As an extra, we have added an experienced special guest to the show - Mr. Ginkgo biloba (the BeeGee). He has centuries of know-how to help you remember and build memories stronger than ever. 🧙♂☯
All together, this combination of nutrients for your Body, Mind and Brain is the best to ensure your best performance and focus while maintaining your wellbeing in the long run. 💪🚀👌😇
Peace out ✌️

]]>So basically, what we mean is
Present You = Your Past Brain.
Food has a great impact on your Brain. That’s why treating it ‘extra’ while having a healthy snack makes it twice as useful.
Now, this is what we call functional.
You are here and now the way you are and reading this because of your Brain. In every sense of the word. It could have been better, it could have been worse – but you are here and now as a result of your Brain. All the actions, experiences, thoughts, emotions, visions, dreams – a.k.a. in one word ‘information’ – in your life has been processed and directed by your Brain. Most of the times by you not being aware of it.
It is not the situations and circumstances in life that make us who we are. Rather how we REACT to them is what defines who we become. You CAN become whatever you imagine yourself to be. It is only a matter of Brain.
The Brain is a muscle. That means, if you were born smart and very advanced, that doesn’t mean it is there to stay. And the other way around – if you were born not the brightest kid in class, that does not mean you will spend your whole life that way.
Brain IS a muscle – you simply have to exercise it and your true capacity will start to unfold. All it takes is the WILL to do it. Nurture and help your Brain with proper nutrition, calm mind and undivided attention to what is happening.
By helping your Brain, you are helping your future self.
Stay healthy. Stay focused. Stay galvanized.
